Privacy policy

Effective 2026-10-08. This policy covers the Solvecam website and its API.

Summary

1. What we collect and why

Problem content

The text you type and the photos or screenshots you upload are transmitted over an encrypted connection to our server and from there to our AI model provider, Google (Gemini, via the Kie.ai API gateway), which returns the solution. The provider processes the content to generate the response under its API terms. Requests are routed through Kie to Google Gemini; those providers apply their own data-processing policies. We send only the problem content; we do not send your email, account id, IP address or device data to the provider.

Photos

Photos are held in memory on our server only for the duration of the request and are not written to storage. Once the solution is returned (or the request fails) the photo is discarded. We do not keep copies.

Typed problems and solutions

Typed problems and generated solutions are processed for the current request. Our application does not persist their contents in logs or storage. Our hosting and AI providers may process operational data under their own policies.

Usage counters

To enforce the free daily limit without requiring an account, our server stores two one-way hashes for each solve: a hash of non-identifying device characteristics your browser sends (screen size, time zone, platform, language and similar) and a hash of your IP address. These counters expire after two days. They cannot be reversed into an IP address or used to identify you across other websites.

Account and billing

If you sign in, we store your email address, the date you signed in, and your Plus status and expiry. Sign-in uses a one-time link sent to your email; we never store a password. Payments are processed by our payment processor (Waffo). We receive your email, the plan you bought, and the payment status, never your card details. The processor's own privacy policy governs the data you enter on its checkout page.

Analytics

We count page views in aggregate on our hosting provider (Cloudflare) without cookies and without individual tracking. We do not use advertising trackers or sell data.

2. Cookies and local storage

One cookie (sc_sess) is set only when you sign in, to keep you signed in for 30 days. Your browser's local storage keeps small preferences such as a cached device identifier. No third-party cookies are set by us. Fonts and the formula renderer load from Google Fonts and cdnjs (Cloudflare); their servers see your IP address when they serve those files.

3. Retention

4. Children

Solvecam is a homework aid and is often used by students with a parent. Free use requires no account and no personal information beyond the problem content needed to produce a solution. Accounts and Plus are intended for adults (parents) or students aged 16 and over; if you are younger, ask a parent to create the account. If we learn that we hold an account for a child under 13 without parental consent, we delete it.

5. Your choices and rights

If you are in the EU, UK or a jurisdiction with similar rights, you also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing problem content is performance of the service you request; for usage counters it is our legitimate interest in running a reliable, fairly limited free tier.

6. Where data is processed

Our servers run on Cloudflare's global network; the AI model provider processes requests in its own regions, which may be outside your country. Transfers rely on the provider's standard contractual terms.

7. Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit. Problem content is never stored with identifying data. Access to account records is limited to the operator.

8. Changes and contact

We will post changes here with a new effective date. Questions: support@solvecam.com. See our terms page for service conditions.
