Free AI math solver with pictures
Math solver that shows every step.
Snap a photo of the problem or type it. This math solver works through it the way a good teacher writes on the board: one step at a time, with the reason for each move, and the answer boxed at the end.
Try a sample
AI can make mistakes. Check the work, especially signs and units.

How it works
Three taps on your phone
Point the camera
Textbook, worksheet, or your own handwriting. Crop is optional; the solver finds the problem.
Watch the steps appear
Steps show up one at a time so you can try to predict the next move. Tap "Why this step?" when you are stuck.
Check the boxed answer
The final answer sits apart from the work, with a check line that plugs it back in. Copy it or save the whole board as an image.
What it is
A free math solver with steps, not just answers
Solvecam is a math problem solver you use in the browser. Type the problem, paste it, or point your phone camera at the page; the solver reads it and writes out the solution step by step. It covers the maths most students meet: fractions and percentages, linear and quadratic equations, systems, inequalities, word problems, derivatives, integrals, limits, and plane and solid geometry.
Unlike a calculator, a math solver with steps has to explain itself. Every line here is one move (subtract 7 from both sides, apply the chain rule) with a short "why" you can open when a step is not obvious. The final answer sits in its own box with a check line that plugs it back into the problem, so you can solve math alongside it rather than copy from it.
Practice mode turns the board into a worksheet: switch it on and, before each step appears, you write your own next line. The solver compares it with the step and tells you whether it matches or where it differs, then shows the step. It is off by default, free, and never counts against your daily solves.
The free math solver gives you 3 full solutions a day with no account. Plus removes the limit, adds a second method for the same problem, and lets you save the board as an image.
Solve by topic
Same math solver, tuned to the kind of problem
Why students keep this tab open
Built around understanding, not just the answer
Each line is written as you would on paper, not buried in a chat bubble. Expand the "why" only when you need it.
Factoring or the quadratic formula. Substitution or elimination. See the same problem solved a second way so the method your teacher wants is there.
If the photo is unreadable or the problem is outside its range, it says so. It will not invent an answer to look clever.

FAQ
Questions parents and students ask
Is this really a math solver with pictures?
Yes. Tap the camera button, photograph the problem (printed or handwritten), and the AI math solver reads it and works through it step by step. You can also upload a screenshot or type the problem, including LaTeX.
Is it a free math solver?
Yes: 3 full step-by-step solutions a day, photo or typed, with no account. Sample problems never count. Plus is optional.
Does it show the steps or just the answer?
Every step, one at a time, the way a teacher writes on the board. Each step has a short "why" you can open. The final answer is boxed separately so you can check your own result first.
What kinds of problems can it solve?
Arithmetic and fractions, linear and quadratic equations, systems, inequalities, exponents and logs, word problems, derivatives, integrals, limits, and plane and solid geometry. If a problem is outside what it can do, it says so instead of guessing.
What does Plus cost?
Plus is $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year. It removes the daily limit and adds "another method" and image export. You sign in with your email, so it follows you to any device.
Can the answer be wrong?
Yes. It is an AI, and AI can make mistakes, especially with blurry photos or missing information. Each solution ends with a check line. Compare it with your own work before you rely on it.
What is Practice mode?
A switch on the solution board. With it on, each step waits for you: type your own next line (the symbol keys help), press Check, and you get a one-line verdict (matches, close, or where it differs) before the step is revealed. Free, no account, and it never uses a free solve.
Is it cheating?
A tool that shows how a problem is solved is a study aid, like a worked example in a textbook. Use it to understand the method, then do the next problem yourself. Follow your school's rules on graded work.
